Typhoon Bopha – A State of Calamity

MANILA — The National Government has placed the entire country under state of calamity following the devastation and hundreds of casualties left by Typhoon “Pablo” (international codename: Bopha).

Proclamation No. 522, which was signed by President Benigno Aquino III on Friday, declares a State of National Calamity which “will hasten the rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts of the government and the private sector including any international humanitarian assistance.”

The prices of basic goods and commodities for the affected areas will also be controlled with the declaration. Continue to Typhoon Bopha
