Blacksmiths in the Philippines. Alive and well.
Today, we took a drive into town as the wife had some errands to run. While parked and waiting, the noise of banging hammers coaxed me over to this blacksmith shop where they were busy making bolos or knives of some kind. Standing there and watching these guys ply their trade was like watching a symphony… a symphony of hammers and hot steel. I could have stayed and watched for an hour, but I managed to capture some video before the Mrs. was ready to go. Enjoy.
Watching these guys was like a history lesson from the past, but still present today, everywhere in the Philippines. If you need a machete or a bolo or any knife of any kind, these guys will make it… custom-made especially for you!
